17 Fertilizer Spreaders Designed With Flexibility in Mind - CropLife

Flexibility is the name of the game when it comes to fertilizer spreaders: flexibility in application rate, flexibility in the number of products applied, flexibility in spread width, flexibility in swath control. Pretty much flexibility across the board is what most manufacturers are striving for in today’s spreader units, giving applicators the options they need to meet the nutrient demands of every field.

Unverferth The Unverferth lineup of Pro-Force spreaders feature large carrying capacities ranging from 200 up to 840 cubic foot and provide a consistent spread pattern up to 90’ wide. Pull-type and chassis mounted models are available and all feature 304 stainless steel construction, 34” wide belt-over-chain conveyor and dual 30” spinner discs with a dished design to optimize the trajectory of the dry material for consistent coverage. Optional Duo-, Tri- and Quad Force multi-bin attachments allow the operator to spread up to four different products, each with variable rate. The Pro-Force dry spreader can handle common fertilizer, lime, gypsum, cover crop seed as well as compost and litter. Miter Gearbox

Heartland Ag Systems The AGX10 HC spreader is an adjustable wheel track spreader that features a high-grade 304 stainless steel unitized one-piece body construction. The conveyor trough, metergate, rear skid section, gearbox mounts, line shaft shield and roller chains also utilize 304 stainless steel for extra durability and life. The high clearance frame is designed for added crop clearance for top dressing nitrogen during the growing season.

Case IH The Trident 5550 combination applicator is available with the New Leader NL4500T G4 Edge and NL5000 G5 variable-rate dry nutrient applicators for precise dry-product application, says the company. The main hopper can be configured as a single product or the MultApplier option can be added for application of two dry products simultaneously. Adding the MultiBin option increases application capabilities to four products. In addition to four-product application capability, the NL4500T and NL500 G5 applicators can carry up to 330 cubic feet to maximize productivity.

Precision Tank The Pacesetter XL Dry System features the New Leader G4 Series dry spreader and a wide range of options, says the company. The unit is designed with a Kenworth Chassis, which the company says offers drivers “a smooth ride.” For liquid applications, Precision Tank also offers the Pacesetter XL Liquid System.

John Deere The 800R Floater for ag-service providers and customers can be equipped with air boom, updated dry spinner-spreader, and liquid systems. Three John Deere DS35 Dry Spinner Spreader options are available and include the NL 4500G4 Edge, NL5000G5 and the new N4500G4 HP Lime. Another improvement to the 800R was the addition of new common hydraulic pumps that significantly decrease the amount of changeover time required to switch between wet and dry systems. All New Leader dry-bin configurations, Hagie Liquid Systems, and Air Boom attachments can now all use the same hydraulic pumps. Optional front fill and side fill will now be offered for the liquid system. The LS20 is available with 30-inch turrets and 60-inch cams, or 60-inch on-center cam locks with 15-inch on-center high-flow five-way nozzle bodies. The 800R comes equipped with a field-proven 90-foot boom and 2,000-gallon solution tank that delivers best-in-class floater ride quality and operator comfort.

Doyle Equipment Manufacturing Co. With a heavy-duty tubing frame and dual-track assemblies, the Doyle Big Shot Spreader offers low soil compaction, says the company. It is equipped with an extra heavy-duty 6:1 spur gear conveyor drive. The unit can deliver a 60-foot spread of lime and up to 90 feet width of dry fertilizer.

Fendt The Fendt Rogator 900 Series applicator is the latest solution from Fendt created to meet the evolving crop production needs of today’s farmers. With the push of a button, the two high-clearance models automatically raise from standard to high clearance of up to 76 inches in less than 45 seconds for critical late-season dry or liquid application and less disturbance of tall crops. After application, they just as quickly return to standard clearance of 56 to 60 inches, depending on model, for superior stability on the road. Changing between the liquid system and a dry spinner or pneumatic system takes less than two hours. Dry systems have the largest capacity of any row-crop high-clearance applicator in the industry. Use the AirMax Precision R1/R2 with TurnLogic turn compensation to ensure accurate applications on curves and corners or the NL5000 G5 for 16 section control in point rows. The Fendt Rogator 900 Series comes in five models ranging from 315- to 365-hp.

Loftness The Loftness F1210 12-ton fertilizer spreader is variable rate ready with hydraulic-driven conveyors and spinners for precision application. It features dual stainless-steel spinners with controlled spinner drive to produce a highly consistent spread pattern. The 409 stainless-steel hopper is smooth with 50-degree slopes, minimal flat surfaces and no internal gussets or plates to accumulate material. This results in a much cleaner system that maximizes material flow and helps prevent corrosion. It also has a 41-inch frame clearance and variable tread width from 80 to 120 inches (90- to 152-inch wheel spacing optional) for in-season applications in row crops.

Case IH Get more done in tight windows and in challenging conditions. A 90-ft. boom option — now the widest boom configuration offered — is available for the FA 1030 air boom applicator. Designed for Titan 3540 or 4540 floaters, the FA 1030 air boom applicator is built to carry more product, enhance productivity and deliver accurate application across changing terrain. Plus, a range of configurations and efficient variable-rate-capable application systems help match the applicator to the operator’s needs and optimize coverage and productivity.

This will allow the ag professional to perform multiple farm tasks in all the growing seasons. The user launches missions in autonomous mode or can also control directly from the tablet. In either instance, no driver is necessary. Currently, OMNiPOWER has interchangeable implements for spreading and spraying with additional applications coming soon. More OMNiPOWER implements will launch quickly and consistently as Raven works with OEM partners to release new implements.

GVM The 2022 T-Series Prowlers now all feature a Dana HVT R2 Transmission with continuous variable ratio-electronic joystick control, which brings improved fuel economy, controllability, and reliable performance to the T-Series Prowler platform. Programmable engine rpm and ground speed buttons enable operators to preset spreader and sprayer speeds, improving application consistency, says the company. The ergonomic joystick control allows operators to vary speed while maintaining full spinner rates to carry the consistent spread pattern through the start and end of a turn. The 4X4 hydro-mechanical variable speed transmission combines the benefits of a fully mechanical transmission with those of a fully hydrostatic transmission. The unit’s power comes from the new Cummins Stage V engine and Dana HVT R2 transmission.
